Greg Tiffany
I studied landscape design at South Seattle Community College and have a Masters in Fine Art from the University of Arizona. After completing my landscape studies I worked in local plant nurseries and landscape design companies. These experiences broadened my plant knowledge and opened my eyes to good and bad ways to serve clients and create landscapes. I started Calyx Landscape Design in 2003
One of the things I love about creating landscapes is the many hats I wear to solve the challenges of each installation. Carpenter, mason, horticulturalist, engineer, artist, plantsman, craftsman, mentor, and teacher. When telling people about what I do I often say it is like drawing fantasy castles as a kid except now I really build them. My goal is to create a landscape for my clients that they would not have imagined, and to exceed what their expectations for a landscape can be.
Client Comments
“We have worked with Calyx on three separate projects over the past two years. In
each case, they were thoughtful and creative and delivered beyond what we thought
possible. Our last project with them was a new deck that they designed and built for
us, complete with custom-welded steel planters. The deck has transformed a
“forgotten” space of our property into a central place for us to hang out. We
strongly recommend their work.”
“We are thrilled with our new backyard! Greg was very professional and great to work with. He had creative design ideas that truly transformed our yard.”
“Calyx Landscape Design just completed a project for us on a steep and challenging site with excellent results. Greg and his crew were reliable and hard working and the work was completed in a timely manner. We would not hesitate to use Calyx on any future landscape projects.”
“Greg Tiffany has done several projects for us. In 2008 he installed a French Drain in our backyard, which has prevented our crawl space from flooding and sump pump from running continuously during the winter. He also built a back deck with railings, graded and sodded our backyard that same summer. The work was done efficiently, on budget, and looks fantastic. Then this past spring (2012) we hired him again to build us a front porch with railing. Again, the work is beautiful, was done on time and on budget. Greg is easy to communicate with, offers great ideas, and has a solid work ethic. We can’t recommend him enough!”
